I was born in the UK and migrated with my family to Australian when I was three. I was schooled in Adelaide and joined the South Australian Police Force after completing Year 11. After leaving the force in 1986, I completed an arts degree at Adelaide University majoring in politics and labour studies and ventured into the world of industrial relations with the South Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In 2007 I completed my law degree from Darwin University and was admitted as a legal practitioner. In 2009 I completed a Master of Laws at the Australian National University. My studting days are over!.
I currently working for the Australian Mines and Metals Association.
My wife Lena is also a lawyer (of much longer standing) and if she keeps arguing with her parents as much as she does now, I expect our daughter Harriet might become a lawyer too.
We also have an aging Airedale Terrier called Melba.
