SAFETY CODE TREATMENTS

EYE CODES
CODE 1: Immediately wash the affected eye with large amounts of water, using continuous flow, until all evidence of the chemical has been removed. This should take approximately 15 minutes.

SKIN CODES
For all the codes, wash the affected area of the body with a continuous flow of cold water until all evidence of the chemical has been removed. This should take approximately 15 minutes.

CODE 4: Use cold water only water only.

CODE 5: Use cold water only. If pain or irritation persists seek medical advice.

CODE 6: Use cold water only then seek immediate medical advice.

CODE 7: Use cold water only. If exposure was prolonged seek medical advice.

CODE 8: Use cold water only, massage in calcium gluconate gel until the pain subsides then seek immediate medical attention.

CODE 9: Use cold water only then apply magnesia/glycerol paste. If irritation or pain persists or if blistering occurs seek medical attention.

CODE 10: Use cold water only then if exposure was prolonged, swab the affected area with glycerol and seek medical advice.

CODE 11: Wash the affected area with soap or mild detergent and water only.

CODE 12: Wash the affected area with soap or mild detergent and water only then if pain or irritation persists seek medical advice.

CODE 13: Wash the affected area with soap or mild detergent and water only then seek immediate medical advice.

INHALATION CODES
For all the codes, remove immediately to fresh air, allow the victim to rest and keep warm.

CODE 14: If irritation or pain persists seek medical attention.

CODE 15: Seek medical advice.

CODE 16: Seek immediate medical attention.

INGESTION CODES
For all codes wash the mouth with water.

CODE 17: Seek immediate medical attention.

CODE 18: Give plenty of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting.

CODE 19: Give plenty of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. If discomfort or pain persists seek medical advice.

CODE 20: Give plenty of water to drink then seek medical advice. Do not induce vomiting.

CODE 21: Give plenty of water to drink then seek immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting.

CODE 22: Give plenty of water to drink followed by milk of magnesia. Seek immediate medical attention.

CODE 23: Give plenty of water to drink, induce vomiting then seek medical advice.

CODE 24: Give plenty of water to drink, induce vomiting then seek immediate medical attention.

CODE 25: Give plenty of water to drink, induce vomiting then inhale amyl nitrate. Seek immediate medical attention.

CODE 26: Give plenty of water or milk to drink then seek medical advice. Do not induce vomiting.

CODE 27: Give plenty of water or milk to drink then seek immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting.

CODE 28 Give plenty of water or milk to drink, induce vomiting then seek medical advice.

CODE 29: Give plenty of water or milk to drink, induce vomiting then seek immediate medical attention.

CODE 30: Give a solution of magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts) - (30 gm in 250 ml of warm water) to drink then seek medical advice.

CODE 31: Swallow promptly milk, starch, flour or eggs then seek immediate medical attention.
