This painting depicts a man trying to escape his world by climbing toward God using a very large pole.
He is at a point of realizing the futility of it, caught between his real existence, and his ideals.

Having said this, I would like to add that, as in most of my emotive paintings, I visualize an image first, then paint it, and analyse it afterward.
