Camp
Sites
****
Do you know of any free or low cost
Nudist Friendly camp-sites in Australia ?. Perhaps you know someone who
owns a property by a river or adjacent to a beach which is accessible to
cars towing a van or camping trailer and that person would allow nudists
to camp there, if so please let us know
Hi,
We have a great site in the
Pilbara it is our favorite;
Name of site = "Coongan Pool"
Location = 160Km South of Port
Hedland on the Marble Bar Road or 40Km North of Marble Bar.
Directions = From Port Hedland,
Turn left on the Marble bar road after the Coongan River crossing into
a dirt road/track (quite safe for two wheel drive), drive in about 800M
along the river to the end of the track. The campsites are from here back
towards the Highway.
This is a great little spot,
hardly any one comes here. There is plenty of water and you can camp within
10 - 20M from it. Good swimming and some fresh water fishing. Heaps of
nude bush walking, you can walk for many Kilometers. If you follow the
river upstream some 1.6 Km you will come to a spectacular gorge, "Doolena
Gorge". For those less energetic there is a track into the gorge. We love
this spot as we find that we can go nude as long as two weeks and only
see the occasional camper or aboriginal. There are no toilets so you will
need to be self sufficient. The water is maybe not the best for drinking,
but we use it for showering and washing so as to stretch our good water
supplies.
This is nude bush camping at
it's best.

For those travelling the South
East of WA, this campsite is great! It is called Lake Cronin.
Location == It is located just
off the Hyden - Norseman Road, which is a shortcut to the Eyre Highway
and East, 85.6 Km east of Hyden.
Directions == From Hyden head
East along the Hyden - Norseman Rd, at 82Km turn left into Marvel Loch
- Forrestania Road, after 3.6Km
turn right into the track to the lake. 1.22Km will take you to the lake
down a sandy but solid track. (we managed in a 2 wheel
drive towing a 6m van)
For those with GPS the coordinates are..32, 23, 1.3S / 119, 45, 49.08E.
This is a great spot for anyone
wanting go nude all the time as it does not show in any camp books. (I
found it on Google Earth). The best part is, the lake has fresh water in
it and quite a large body of it, about 300M long.(we were there in late
January) It is no good for drinking, but quite all right for washing and
swimming.
There is some shade at two
camp areas, the last one being closest to the lake. DEC (CALM) have blocked
off access to the rear of the lake where I believe the best camping is.
The trip from Hyden is good
with only about 40km of very good gravel road towards the end as there
is a mine near by.
There is another good camp
spot along the way at the 64.5km distance called "Forrestania Plots" which
is sign posted and in the camps book. Plenty of room for nude privacy there
also, but no water.
More good nude bush camping,
Alan & Carol

NEW BEACH
(THESE DETAILS WERE SUBMITTED
BY PHIL BRIGGS OF W.A.)
Thanks Phil.
*****
SITUATED About
20 km South of Carnarvon on the West Coast of W.A.
Turn
left off the North Coast Highway about 10 or 12 km South of Carnarvon then
drive 6 km West towards the coast. At the T intersection, turn left and
drive 500 mtrs to NEW BEACH. If there are people there, drive on a further
2 km down the track and park at the waters edge ( at high tide).
The tidal changes here create a long walk to the water at low tide and
as there is little shade you will need an annex or awning.
Phil tells us you can have camp fires and enjoy nude solitude for
weeks at a time. He reckons fishing is good too.

Cambray Siding
This an unofficial nudist
camping spot so be prepared to cover up if textiles come near.
There are no facilities
so you must be self sufficient in all respects there is a water tank there
but of course vandals often remove the taps so you must have your own supply.
Cambray siding is situated
approx. 13 km NW of Nannup, if you are approaching from Busselton pass
through Jarrahwood, carry on then about 7 km past St. Johns Brook Bridge,
turn right into Cambray Road, this is a gravel track, proceed for about
4.5 km and you will be in the vicinity of the old railway line, turn right
along either side of the old line, go for about 400 metres and you will
see a water tank , from here you will find several campsites.
At weekends you may see
others camped there and they may not be Nudists so be prepared to cover
up.
We have just received a
report about Cambray Siding from
Damon
We went there for the weekend.
Cambray road is poorly maintained and not recommended for 2 wheel drive
cars. The first part is OKish, but has sections of deep soft sand.
The last part has a steep descent which is deeply rutted with rocks.
It is also within the boundaries of the newly created St Johns Brook Conservation
Park and animals are not permitted
Regards
Damon
Thanks Damon for the Information

This one from Carol &
Alan 29th March 2010
Hi,
We have just been to Cambray
Siding about 6 days ago.
We found it quite good and
isolated, we only saw one vehicle in two days and he seemed OK with us
being nude as he tooted his horn as he passed.
The road/track is not the
best. It is a bit rough, but it is only 4.5K's in. We went in with a Falcon
wagon towing a 6 metre van and had no problems.
A great spot. There was
also a large pool in the river there which you could camp along side.

Camp Sites
Karratha
(Miaree Pools)
(Alongside the Maitland
River)
(Not
Legal but you should have no problems if you use
common sense)
~~~~
From Karratha travel about
32 km South and you will find the Maitland River, just before the bridge
is a track leading off left to a rest area with plenty of camping space
near a large water hole which after the river has stopped flowing is great
for swimming but here you will find textiles.
Now if you look up-river you
will see a hill, walk up the track between the river and the hill and you
will come to another water hole which is also good for swimming, we stayed
there for three weeks and David used this spot every day for his nude swim.
There are also camping spots
which we used away from the textiles around which you can go nude if you
use a little common sense.
The Granites
(unofficial)
SITUATED about
7 km North of Mount Magnet on the Great Northern Highway.
Travel North from Mount Magnet
for about 7 km and you will see on your right a rest area, enter this and
go on through, you will find a vast parkland area with well made
tracks suitable for towing a van with a conventional two-wheel-drive car.
there are plenty of shady spots to make camp and although we spent more
than a week there we only saw three other lots of people and two of those
were from a distance.
You will need to be self sufficient
as there are no facilities but supplies can be obtained from Mt Magnet.
Newman's Rocks
This is another unofficial nudist
friendly camping spot.
Traveling East, you will find it
situated about 140 km. from Norseman along the Eyre Highway. you will have
to look keenly to see the signpost on your left and the all weather track
which winds about 1 km. into the bush, then you will find campsites with
BBQs.
This is not
a busy campsite so there is plenty of opportunity to go nude. You do of
course have to use common sense and be prepared to cover up if others arrive
but then again if you let them know that you are nudists they themselves
may also be nudists or at least not mind if you camp au-natural.
There are no
facilities here except for the BBQs so you must be self sufficient, although,
when we were there and running out of water it decided to rain heavily
for a couple of hours which filled the rock pools with lovely fresh water
from which we topped up our caravan water tanks and containers we also
had a shower in the rain once again saving our own supplies.
There
are some beautiful views from Newman's Rocks and it sure is worth a visit.
Maurititious Beach .
Near Exmouth W.A.
This is, since September
2001. an Official Nudist Area.
We don't have any details
about Free Or Low Cost Caravan & Camping Sites here so if anyone can
supply us with some information we would appreciate it.
The following Information
was sent to us by Graham Langford 31st Oct. 2004
This beach is officially deemed
to be a nude or clothing optional beach. There is no camping permitted
at the car park or on the beach. The closest camping is the Lighthouse
caravan park (approx. 3 kms) but this is a regular caravan park.
It is a great beach and is best
in the mornings before the sea breeze starts about 3pm. The water is a
beautiful turquoise and perfectly clear and if you like snorkeling or diving
the Ningaloo Reef has lots to offer.
From the car park make your way
along the path to the beach. Access to the water for swimming is best either
straight in front of the path or to the right (north) side. It is good
walking up that way as well. To the left there are several rock pools and
depending on the tide and the size of the waves there is a neat little
whirlpool. It’s a great beach and a no hassle nude beach.
Don't forget if you know
