- Our next special public seminar is "Natural Birth after Caesarean - Is it Right For Me?" on Friday 25 September, 7.15pm - 9.30pm at Eastwood. See here for further details.
- This year (2009) Birth Matters celebrates 10 years of providing independent information and support to help South Australians have better birth experiences.
- The latest information about the changes to national health professional registration and likely impacts on the provision of homebirth with an independent midwife are available on the website of a Homebirth Australia.
- The Women's and Children's Hospital (Adelaide) commenced its new Public Homebirth Service on 1st February (2009) out of the Midwifery Group Practice. More information here
- The SA Beautiful Birth Festival was a great success on Sunday 3rd May 2009 at Fullarton Park Centre (cnr Fullarton Rd and Fisher Street). Check out the websiteavailable here.
- The National Review of Maternity Services was launched in Adelaide on September 10th 2008 by the Federal Health Minister, Nicola Roxon. The Government is using the Review to direct changes to maternity services in Australia. The Report and submissions are publicly available here. The Birth Matters submission is available here.

- A 2030 Vision for SA Maternity Care was developed at a ThinkTank of leading consumers and midwives in South Australia in May last year. The Vision statement is available here.

- NEW LIBRARY ADDITIONS have been made recently - some more fantastic books, including Spiritual Midwifery, Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, and double copies of 4 excellent birth DVDs (including an excellent homebirth DVD with information from Marsden Wagner, former Director of Women's and Babies Health for the World Health Organisation) .
