SA Independent Midwives

Midwives in South Australia may work in public hospitals, private hospitals or independently (in private practice) in the community and at home. The scope of their work may vary widely from one individual to another, from one workplace to another, and depending on whether they are attending birth in hospital or at home. INDEPENDENT MIDWIVES in South Australia are listed below. They may be available to birth at home and/or in hospital with you. Not all midwives will be available at the time your baby is due; some are willing to travel considerable distances across Adelaide or outside the Metro area to birth with women but others practice more locally. You may want to speak to several midwives before you make your choice. Attending Birth Matters meetings is also a good way to meet local midwives.
