And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 2 Peter 2:3
WARNING: Moriah Ministries Australia is a no punches pulled ministry. While every effort is made to promote modesty in our reporting we will not shy from the truth. We apologise in advance should any readers be offended by the descriptions given herein, however it is imperative that the truth be told and told as it really is.
It is sickening that the Church Growth / Purpose Driven movement sees the Sovereign Creator of all things as a product which can and should be successfully marketed. In so doing they have profaned Him by making Him less than He is and have thus blasphemed Him. That friend is a FACT! That they are appealing to carnality in order to achieve that end is categorically reprehensible!
Rightfully described as a cult, Hillsong Australia is in the news again for all the wrong reasons. The Word of God declares that His people would be hated by the world because of Him, not because of their impropriety and hypocrisy. Adelaide’s Today Tonight aired a report on Wednesday October 3, 2007 claiming that the popular and worldly Hillsong Assembly Line of God has infiltrated the secular talent program Australian Idol by ‘stacking’ both the audience and the contestants with its own people. If you missed the report you can download it free here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/8hnsbh. The Today Tonight report follows a recent Channel 9, A Current Affair story also outing Hillsong Australia for its cultish behaviour. Of course Hillsong and such like fellowships will deny cult status blaming such brazen ‘attacks’ on Satan or perhaps even a leftist media bias because of their Liberal Party support, anything but admit their own culpability.
Such claims against wayward fellowships are nothing new. Moriah Ministries Australia has been beating that drum since Idols’ inception, exposing the compromised fellowships and affiliate organisations that not only support it but who, like parasites, leech off the hard work of the contestants therein solely to promote themselves and their cause. Obsessed by an ‘end justifies the means’ theology and driven by the unscriptural mandate to ‘be relevant to the culture in order to win the lost’ these deceived people and their misguided leaders are dragging the church into the mire of worldly depravity all in the name of ‘evangelism’. Although the Word of God is crystal clear concerning the subject of idolatry, this latest bunch of idols, six of whom claim to be born again believers[a] are either oblivious to or openly defiant of biblical commands, particularly little Tarisai Vushe whose ego is astounding. Typical of those who are deluded by the end justifies the means ethos; all of these would-be idols have no qualm in bilking out worldly dirges in their quest for secular stardom.
Matt Corby sang the Led Zepplin classic “The Immigrant Song” which bears classic anti-white colonial rhetoric and gives credit to “the gods” for safe passage…
… the hammer of the gods, Will drive our ships to new lands…
His rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish” contains the following lyrics hardly befitting a believer in Y’shua…
Brother says hes tellin bout you playin doctor with that girl
Just dont tell Ill give you Anything you want in this whole wide world
Mama gives you money for sunday school
You trade yours for candy after church is through
Mark Da Costa sang the old Stevie Wright hit Evie, the story of the seduction of a 17 year old girl.
Daniel Mifsud offered something by U.S. rockers Kiss (Which incidentally is NOT an acronym for Kings In the Service of Satan) “I Was Made for Loving You” which contains the following … edification??…
Tonight I wanna give it all to you
In the darkness
Theres so much I wanna do
And tonight I wanna lay it at your feet
cause girl, I was made for you
And girl, you were made for me
Voodooist Jimmi Hendrix was also saluted by Mifsud with his rendition of the song “Fire”…
Listen here, baby
and stop acting so crazy
You say your mum ain't home,
it ain't my concern,
Just play with me and you won't get burned
I have only one itching desire
Let me stand next to your fire
17 year old Ben McKenzie was ahead of his time singing the Maroon 5 track “Sunday Morning”…
Sunday morning rain is falling
Steal some covers share some skin.
Apparently unmarried Ben sees no problem singing of a sexual interlude reserved for married folk alone. Hey, his “fans” are singing along people…
And neither did mini Marcia, “I’d like to praise my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit who is with me tonight…” Tarisai Vushe nor her ‘spiritual advisors’ see any problem with her song choice “Hot Stuff”, the old Donna Summer hit which speaks explicitly of casual opportunistic sex and in particular: semen (being the song title’s meaning).
Just songs? Would you sing them in church? To your family? To the Father? … Then why at all? For fame? To showcase your... ‘gift’? Let me tell you something; the Father is far more interested in your character than your talent friend; more concerned with your integrity than your ‘evangelistic’ appeal. If you don’t understand that, then with all due respect, you’re as lost as the world.
Of course this latest pack of compromisers are not new to embracing the ways of the world, it’s styles, fashions and music in order to climb to the top of the steaming pile. Guy Sebastian sang “When I Get You Alone”, which includes the lyrics,
“Baby girl you da shit
That makes you my equivalent,
Well you can keep your toys in the drawer tonight,
The inference to sex aids is obvious. Professing believer Paulini has no problem with being referred to as a Diva (female goddess) or with parading her buxom cleavage whenever the opportunity presents itself.
I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing. In like manner, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefastness and sobriety; not with braided hair, and gold or pearls or costly raiment; but (which becometh women professing godliness) through good works. 1 Timothy 2:8-10 (emphasis mine)
But you see, with “end justifies the means” theology anything, absolutely anything goes!
Though not an Australian Idol, former Mouseketeer and professing believer Britney Spears in her song “When I Get You Home” took hypocrisy to a new low when she sang…
“When I get you
Babe, that's when the fun starts
It's just me and you
You and me
Our own private party
When I get you home
I saw you at the club, oh yeah
In a corner by yourself
I chatted you up and, oh
We grinded, yeah babe
I can't wait, I can't wait...
Here's what we're gonna do.
We're gonna get close up and personal.
Don't be scared...I won't bite...”
Spears’ drug binges, naked pole dancing, public genital exposure and lesbian encounters all speak volumes about the depth of her faith and her brand of Christianity. Fellow American singer Faith Hill also professes faith in Christ, crediting her tenacity to upbringing and spirituality. She notes:
"It’s still a big part of me," she says. "That’s where my strength comes from. It’s my foundation. I was raised in a Christian home and it prepared me to deal with life on my own, the everyday trials and tribulations in an industry where a lot of things, morally, aren’t good. Having a backbone of spirituality makes me a little stronger. I pray a lot, and when I first moved to Nashville, that’s what kept me alive.”
One wonders what kind of spiritual foundation led Audrey Faith Perry (Faith Hill) to hop into her birthday suit for the viewers of Playboy Magazine on two separate occasions[b]. Carrie Underwood, a professing believer and winner of the 4th series of American Idol sings, "Jesus Take the Wheel"; but she can't keep her clothes on either being featured in SELF magazine strutting her stuff[c]. MercyMe, a so-called "Christian" rock band, appeared on the U.S Tonight Show with Jay Leno. What song did they sing ... Amazing Grace? Nope! ... try Rocking Around the Christmas tree! So much for witnessing to the lost. U2 front man Bono professes faith in Christ yet insists that Muslims and Christians are the same. His stage antics are unbelievable. In one concert he serenaded his microphone with his crotch in simulated masturbation. Former DC Talker Toby Mac wants to start a revolution, one that will sweep through cities and erase the divisive lines that keep people and cultures apart. Grammy-winning Nimrod-esque Mac, holding up his microphone like a fist in the air, sees his opportunity in the society-shaping power of music. Sound familiar? In his biography Mac says:
"If we are gonna be that city on a hill, we have to be a diverse city.”
"People fashion a great city by holding tight the beauty of our differences with the bonds of our unity,"
Is that what the Word teaches? No! This is more of the politically correct, unity in diversity dribble pulsing through the veins of compromised believers and fellowships alike. And so it goes on, contemporary false prophets preaching deceit from their neon lit pulpits.
Frankly, I stand amazed knowing believers in the risen Saviour actually support this tripe, turning a blind eye to it because it is all done ‘in the name of evangelism’. Deluded people led by deluded leaders such as Ashley Evans of the Paradise Community Church in Adelaide South Australia, who brazenly announced to his hyped up congregation that Guy Sebastian’s rise to secular stardom was ‘The time of visitation that we must not miss’. Typically twisting Scripture beyond all plausible bounds, Evans was referring to the discourse the Messiah had with the Pharisees in Luke 19:43 where He prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem because they had missed their time of His visitation. Only a deceived and demented mind could parallel this event with Guy Sebastian’s Australian Idol bid. Jeremiah 10:15 is far more appropriate...
“They are vanity, a work of delusion: in the time of their visitation they shall perish”.
A spokesman for the Paradise Community Church Pastor Mark Elmandorp lied barefaced to me when he announced the PCC had not focussed any attention on Sebastian’s Idol quest. Brian Houston of Hillsong fame insists the same blatant untruth with this latest batch of born again backsliders. It seems lying and deception are fair play in their end justifies the means game.
Please don’t brush over the following Scriptures because they are important. It is because so-called leaders ceased preaching these uncomfortable exhortations that the church is in the deplorable state it is in today. Consider them deeply with regard to the subject matter in this report.
“… as children of obedience, not fashioning yourselves according to your former lusts in the time of your ignorance: but like as he who called you is holy, be ye yourselves also holy in all manner of living; because it is written, Ye shall be holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:14-16 (Emphasis mine)
“… that we may be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;” Ephesians 4:14
For our exhortation [was] not by deception, nor from an impure [motive], nor in treachery [or, deceit]. 1 Thessalonians 2:3
And you did he make alive, when ye were dead through your trespasses and sins, wherein ye once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience; among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest: - Ephesians 2:1-3
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12: 1-2 (Emphasis mine)
Purity and holiness are the core definers of faithfulness and service, not talent or opportunity. There is a great difference between a God-given gift and a naturally acquired talent. Little Tarisai Vushe claims God gave her the gift of song before she was born and when she grew older she just ‘figured it out’. Tarisai is very much mistaken. Tragically in the Laodecian church of today both gifts and talents are given the dubious distinction of ‘ministry’. Sadly much if not most of what claims to be ‘ministry’ in the church today is little more than circus-like entertainment; just as much of what is labelled ‘praise and worship’ is merely showing off and yes, idolatry in its classic sense. The failure of simple church folk to comprehend this obvious fact is testimony to the large scale lack of biblical discernment within ‘Christian’ denominations and the carnality of its so called leadership.
It is more than a little disturbing to witness professing believers constructing their own little kingdoms here on earth and setting themselves up as objects of worship in the process. Idol does precisely that. Satan must be in hysterics. End justifies the means theology (or better put demonology) affords these people all the hypocrisy under the sun because every action is absolved under the banner of the end result – whatever that might be. Presently in the United States famed Oral Roberts University is in the news being sued for impropriety by some former professors, and again rank hypocrisy is excusing itself in the name of the King of Kings[d]. Few fellowships remain faithful to the call. Sadly it is often true that the safest place for the true believer in this day and age is outside of the professing church.
An old truism will suffice when describing Hillsong and kind:
All that glitters is not gold! That which lies upon the surface of things, easy to find and boasting of value is simply worthless upon scrutiny – a shadow of truth, having the form but not the substance. It is mere fool’s gold.
Up until now the Paradise Community Church has managed to avoid secular media scrutiny with regard to its compromising’s. I can assure you that is about to change!
