Early July we set out for our trip to reach the Northern most tip of Australia.

We were aware that it would not be an easy trip however what was in store for us we could not have predicted or had wished for.

We met our friends, Lizzie and Brian in Broken Hill and our first stop to camp was just outside of Tibooburra.

Whilst looking for wood for our campfire, Lizzie found a dog tied up that had been shot, not a good start.

It almost seemed that everything that could go wrong did go wrong from there on.

The roads were horrendous, much worse then we expected, the scenery was sparse, very little wildlife, lots of dust and scrub.

One of the highlights was sharing a bottle of champagne at the TIP after such an exhausting and rigorous drive to finally get there was great.

Unfortunately we broke the drive shaft and had to wait 4 days for the part to be flown in from Cairns.

Whilst waiting for the part we chartered a little boat and went fishing only to be stranded out at sea 1 hour before our return and we had to be towed back to land!

We finally were on our way when 2 days later we had an accident and flipped our campertrailer, luckily neither of us were hurt, some pig hunters came to our assistance and 10 hours later we limped into Weipa.

Once we received the all clear from the insurance company we left Weipa minus our camper and finally arrived home in Adelaide 5 days later.
