Chester The Wonder Car
Diana and Graeme Pinkney up front in their 1928 Riley Nine (an Australian-built, three-door, metal-bodied tourer). A Mk 3 car with rod brakes & artillery wheels.
Geoff Wilson`s in the rear. Rosalie Wilson`s in there too. If you`ve got very good CSI-type software you might catch a glimpse of her through the rear window!
The photo was taken at Mt Barker on the first night of the Porongurup Party, the National Gathering of Australian Riley Clubs in April 2009.
The story of how Chester got to the Party and then participated in the subsequent Antill
re-enactment should be told. I`m sure Graeme`s working on it.
I reckon that tin trunk on the back is a family heirloom.
