Better Go

Lying on the beach  I’m dreaming dreams of paradise
The morning sun is beautiful, the waves are very nice
I feel like staying all day because this weather’s heaven sent
But I should go to work because I have to pay the rent

One for the money, two for the show
Is that the time already?
I think I’d better go

I really should get dressed and put my lunch into my case
But I don’t have the energy to leave this perfect place
Time is running out it’s getting close to half-past eight
And if I go in now I’ll get chewed out for being late

One for the money, two for the show
Is that the time already?
I think I’d better go

A little voice, inside of me
Says ‘Concentrate on being free
It isn’t hard, just wait and see
Go peacefully
Peacefully’

It’s nearly Noon and there’s no chance I’ll make it in today
Despite my best intentions all my time just slips away
Lying here in paradise there is no greater joy
Let’s make today a holiday for every girl and boy

One for the money, two for the show
Is that the time already?
I think I’d better go

One for the money, two for the show
I think I’ll take my watch off
I’m never gonna go.
