TUNING TIPS

Lets face some facts first. Unless you are buying specialty slot cars from NSR & Slot.it, most 1/32nd slot cars are simply toys. Yes, they run pretty well when magnets are involved, but what about us who race on routed tracks, where the magnetic force is no longer a factor?

To get the most out of your 1/32nd slot car on a wood track, a level of tuning is required. Sometimes its as easy as adding some lead. Sometimes there is more required

SCR member & auslot forum member, Dennis (wizardgm) has written 2 excellent articles on what is required to tune a Scalextric Supra & a Scalextric Camaro. While these articles are specific to these 2 cars, most of the techniques can be transferred across to just about any slot car in your box.

These articles (in PDF format) can be downloaded by clicking on the 2 links below

How to “BAKE” a Supra

How to “BAKE” a Camaro

If you are new to slots, I urge you to read these articles as your first point of call. If you are more experienced, read em anyway!! You might learn a tip or 2!
